I was torn between this and a Dewalt but opted for the Makita, I have to say I'm pleased as punch with it. I purchased it from Screwfix because their price is excellent. You expect quality from Makita and this is no exception, the build quality is excellent and it has more than enough power to handle just about any routing job you can throw at it. I've done lot's of jobs with it, this week. It comes with a quality adjustable guide, dust extractor attachment.
It also had an attachment for adjustable the depth if you want to use on a router table, all inside a sturdy case, I'm not one for buying rubbish or cheap tools, I want to do a good job and make my life easier. This Makita router defiantly does that, highly recommended from Screwfix the best place for all your tools at a price you can afford. I was amazed by the difference from a diy router to a pro router. If I'd have known I've have invested in the first place. Peforms great Quiet Powerful No problem with a 60mm bit which destroyed my previous router. Rated 5 out of 5 by No1Sherlock from Best router ever Feels quality giving that perfect finish. Exceeds expectations. Worth that extra cost. Rated 5 out of 5 by RedGerry73 from Too Good.
Real quality piece of kit. I made the mistake of purchasing this router to put into a router table, but as the title says, it's "TOO GOOD" to be sitting in a router table. Almost 3 horses, so more than enough grunt for any application you can throw at it.
Nice soft start, so no sudden jolts when powering up, and the smooth action of the plunge mechanism make this a real pleasure to use. I cannot recommend this machine highly enough. The micro adjust fence, as well as the micro adjust plunge, the power and overall ergonomics, make it Hands down the best router I've ever purchased, or used.
Just bought this today and noticed a slight movement back and forth with handles. The RPFC is engineered with 15 AMP power, ease-of-use features, and an increased plunge capacity for a wide range of applications including fine woodworking, cabinetry, windows, doors, and more.
The RPFC has a soft start feature for smooth start-ups and an electric brake for increased productivity. The RPFC is engineered with oversized ball bearing construction — as well as a built-in fan with labyrinth construction to minimize dust from entering the tool — for longer tool life. The RPFC has ergonomic rubberized handles with a built-in two-finger switch for added control, with a lock-on trigger for continuous operation and built-in twin L.
The quick release plunge depth adjustment with micro control and three preset depth stops are engineered for added precision, and the plunge lock lever is conveniently located for efficient operation. Additional ease-of-use features include easy-to-read depth scales, a chip deflector engineered to direct chips away from the operator, and a durable flat top design for stability when changing bits.
