I had to drill holes which was not hard but was time consuming to line up. Once the holes were drilled and counter sunk.

Don't forget to do that! It worked well. For the money it's OK the construction is strong and thick. If the " universal" slots were in a better place this would be a 5 star product.

I'm not sure what router this fits but the makita I have is a very common standard router and only one of the holes would line up.

I think this circle cutter has potential to be a good tool. However there were NO instructions on how to use it or even attach a router to it. Very little information on-line, just a few youtube videos by others who have purchased it. Additionally, you must drill your own mounting holes in the base and somehow figure out how to adapt your router to it.

The bottom line is that by the time you figure out how to adapt it and then get a router mounted, you could have made your own simple circle cutter. I would recommend looking elsewhere, personally.

I ordered this, drilled it out to fit my router, drilled the pilot hole to put the base into for the center of the circle, and as I started to make my cut, the piece that goes in the center hole broke off. I requested a new part, to which customer service said they would just send it a returned item that would have the part, got that yesterday, and the part I needed was not there.

It seems like a sturdy enough base, but the center pin created a bit of an issue for me. Will be looking elsewhere for a jig, or ill just make my own. Product installation was more involved than described. In order to get my Dewalt trim router to mount flush, I would have had to alter router base a bit.

Not that that would have been a big problem except I didn't want to alter the router base base and then look at the alteration everytime I used my router. Lastly, I felt altering the router base would have altered structural integrity of the base a slight bit therefore it was not a painless install and I didn't want to force it and pay a price later.

I used this circle cutting jig to cut a circular recess in some plywood, it worked great once you set it up. I was using it with my compact router and followed the directions to trace my baseplate onto their base.

It is made of Bakelite and so I was able to easily drill through holes and a recessed hole with a Forster bit for the mounting screw. This particular jig allows you to crest really small circles and that is why I decided on this one.

I would recommend this product for anyone who is handy and can drill perpendicular holes which is key. By Calls it like it is! Images in this review.
