Iv e been growing some of the fabulous landscaping bushes and such that mIke has been teaching us about….. I guess this site with the donkeys and family who love them is about the best thing out there….. This results in large quantities of pine bark and horse manure which he is happy to give to me. I think my system can be improved! The huge piles are turned over with my dozer. I then add this material to my garden with a manure spreader and large amounts are added to my pasture and hay fields.

No worms are in this material. What am I doing wrong? How can I do better? Packing the pile with heavy equipment only adds to the problem. You piles should be low and flat and not packed tightly. There are so many great ideas, but this one is the best for me. The village up the road from me will bring me all the leaves I want in the fall. As they vacuum them from the side of the road, they get shredded pretty good.
