Deals and Shenanigans. Adjusting the door hinges properly ensures that your wardrobe doors open and shut easily and there aren't any gaps when closed. Most modern wardrobe doors feature Euro-style hinges, which are adjustable in three directions: side-to-side, height and depth, says Norse Interiors. This type of hinge is commonly used because it is completely concealed when the door is closed. Accordingly, they are sometimes referred to as hidden or concealed hinges.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten and loosen the appropriate screws to make the needed adjustments to your wardrobe hinges.
Identify the screw that adjusts the side-to-side position of the door. This screw is located in the middle of the hinge on the cabinet side, where there are two screws next to each other horizontally.
The screw you need to adjust is closest to the door. Tighten the screw clockwise to move the door away from the middle and loosen the screw counter-clockwise to move the door toward the middle. This is a little tricky because the direction the door moves is different depending on which side of the door the hinges are on.
To move a door with a right-side hinge to the right, turn the screw clockwise. To move it left, turn the screw counter-clockwise. For a door with a left-side hinge, turn the screw clockwise to move the door left, or counter-clockwise to move the door right. Adjust the top and bottom hinges separately if the door is crooked, advises Hints and Things.
