If the radial arm saw provides extreme versatility in its many configurations, 10 inch radial arm saw blade ide drawback to that feature is more can go wrong with the alignment. It cuts like a very dull blade. Radial arm saws also allow for precise cutting because the upper surface of the wood is facing you, and your marks are easily seen. This is indeed a safe procedure.

Please try again later. I bought this is Hung above my saw for the day I was through with rough construction. I finally took this out of the package and put this on two weeks ago. Horrible cuts. It struggles to cut birch plywood to length. It burns maple doors when cross cutting the ends to length. It cuts like a very dull blade. The teeth are so narrow that the blade rubs the wood.

Don't buy this blade. I've been woodworking for thirty years and owned a furniture factory for 11 years. I know what I'm writing about. As a contractor I run through blades pretty frequently and I've had the chance to try a lot of brands. As I've moved away from the Diablo blades that are readily available in stores and bought more of the Freud specialty blades like this sliding miter blade and their double-sided laminate blade, I like them even more.

The cuts are as clean or cleaner than the factor edges on most cabinetry I install, and if you use them for their intended purposes they last for ages.

The blade life makes it more than worth the added expense of getting the right blade for the right job. You learn something every day. I had an old Radial Arm Saw that I got from a friend and I initially switched the blade out to a nice 80 tooth blade I had laying around and always fought the saw from pushing forward to me while cutting.

Most of my work was on a table saw and only used the RAS to break down long lumber. Finally had a real need to use the RAS but didn't like the "unsafe" feeling I got from using it. After some reading and research noticed that the RAS needs a negative hook angle blade to prevent the saw head from grabbing the wood during the pull stroke.

I was using a positive 10 degree hook angle and LU91 has a negative 5 degree hook angle!. Boy what a difference that blade makes. Actually like using the RAS much more now. Much safer. Cut with the LU91 is very nice. Beautiful blade. I was about to 10 Inch Radial Arm Saw Blade Quick mount it, when I read "Full Kerf" printed on the blade where it shows the width dimensions why does it show the dimension in three different units?

So at this point, I'm not reviewing the functional quality of the blade That's the single largest confusion, but there's more! My next image is the official tech specs from the ad copy that claims 0. Then look back at the blade printing, and they've called it 0. And then the kicker of course So we have officially claimed width again, using their own significant figures : 0. But WHY have they given so many different dimensions?

And why and how? By Darell D. Images in this review. Yes, I still have an ancient radial arm saw, a DeWalt. Bought from I think Montgomery Wards many moons ago. Give them some props for a quality product that I Just took it apart and cleaned and lubed I treated it to this new blade, finally one actually made for these machines. Cuts like a quality new blade and does not try to ride up on the wood and wrench everything out of alignment.

The machine came with a steel non-carbide blade that tried to kill me every day. Bought a standard carbide blade well after the original became lethally scorched and warped and used this kind of blade for years. I found that blades made for radial arm saws are far, far better and safer than the blades sold for table saws and the like. Better for chop saws too, but I don't have one of those to test it on. So, search for the correct blade and pay the price. So much better.

I had a coworker try it. I had a horrible problem with the blade that came with the saw. The blade would throw wood back at me or all over the shop. Found out the blade was not for a sliding miter saw. Imagine Dewalt doing this! This one is and the difference is immediately noticeable with the first cut. It pulls the wood to the fence. It cuts smoothly. Thin kerf blades wobble a bit and can throw off an angle cut not giving you the exact angle you need. Seems to be okay. See all reviews.

Top reviews from other countries. Absolutely awesome blade! WOW What a difference! It has already seen well over cuts since I bought it a week ago and still cuts like it did out the package! Definitely worth the investment and from the size of the carbide, it will be able to be sharpened often! Report abuse. Upgraded my old mitre saw blade for some flooring and trim work with this blade and it did an excellent job! Thinner kerf makes for easier cutting on hardwood.

Would definitely recommend this blade. One person found this helpful. Cuts very well on my radial arm saw. Cross cuts and ripping are no problem. We will see how long it stays sharp for, but for now, 5 starts. A great cut My husband says it cuts like butter! Customers who bought this item also bought.

Remember, too: you can always call or email the technical service folks at these leading blade manufacturers and ask for their advice. Tim Inman : Anybody who has read my books or articles has almost certainly come across my opinion of radial arm saws.

They are dangerous and good for cutting rafters. By design, they are virtually impossible to adjust and keep adjusted. Your lack of quality cut is almost certainly the result of either a bad bearing in the motor, or backlash in the casting frame of the saw. Others will disagree …. When I was a young woodworking teacher, I had to use them to teach seventh graders.
