I know a few years ago these were being closed out at HD for less than that, so I am hoping to get guidance on what a fair price is for a used table saw. Thanks in advance for your help. I tried once several hours ago and the first post went somewhere in cyberspace.

Presuming all is well and I agree on a reasonable price with the owners, it appears that, in the owner's manual I might have success in stuffing this thing in my Subaru wagon upside down, after taking off the fence rails and the entire leg assembly by removing it from the base.
Would this assumption be correct? If I have to rent something to transport it, then I might as well go to HD and purchase myself a brand new hybrid.
You should have no trouble hauling that in your Subaru if you take it apart like you described. Still, it would be adviseable to have some help with the loading and unloading.
Indeed I do plan and hope to have the help of a friend who has a bit of woodworking experience come along with me. He'll take a look at the saw and help me shove it in the car if I buy it.
I'd bet it outweighs me by at least pounds! I'd like to throw my 2cents in here, as someone who may be selling a TS in the near future. I think you also need to take account of what you get with the saw. For example, there may be a router table setup. It might come with a router too, that's specific to the router table.
There may be other accessories. I have a spare rip fence for mine, that is very useful indeed for the router table. I used to think that, but my views have changed. It's 44" wide. Bigger than any other hybrid or contractor's saw. Review Summary This was a great saw for the price unfortunately it is no longer made so you will have to look for an used model. My only issue was keeping the fence square over time.
I would have to re-square it a few times a year to keep it true. Eventually I replaced it with a Saw Stop fence and it has been dead nuts on ever since. Detailed Ratings 4. Review Summary Thought I'm not a full time woodworker yet , I'd recommend this saw anytime. Too bad it's not made now. Only change I made was a different miter guage. Hard working, accurate saw Reviewed by: kikodoss. Review Summary I'm a hobbyist woodworker and I was able to get this saw on a great sale about 5 years ago.
I have never regretted this purchase. I based my decision on a Table Saw article here in Wood Magazine. This saw has lived up to my expectations and has met all my needs. Perhaps if I'd had the opportunity to use a high end cabinet saw, I'd recognize some other weaknesses, but truly, I believe these would be minimal. After 5 years of use, there's only 2 things I wish this saw had - better dust collection and a riving knife. It's too bad they chose to discontinue this model. For the price, I don't think you can beat this saw.
