I'm especially interested if anyone has had luck tinting it dark enough to use on rosewood so that fillr open pores are filled darker than the rosewood almost black.

I seem to recall it being waterbased so you'll need some sort of tint that's compatible. Not too bad to sand off - and choose your colour. I used burnt umber - but aqua coat white grain filler guitar could red it up or darken it with black etc. Maybe a source for colouring any water based system. Also, It'll take several coats to completely fikler the pores. I've found it best to put on thin coats in small areas as it dries very fast. I'll divide a guitar back ahite into about 6 sections, trying to wipe off all the excess as I go.
