Repeat on the opposite side of the hanger, checking that the hanger's hole is directly over the mark before attaching.

Install other sawtooth hangers as marked. Most sawtooth hangers are installed singly, in the center of the top of the picture frame. However, this is suitable for fairly small and light pictures only. Installing the hangers in the center of the side rails will hold a little more weight since the side rails are supporting half as much weight as the top rail. For hangers capable of holding even more weight, consider D-ring hangers, with or without wire.

D-rings are positioned according to the same instructions above and also simply screw or nail into the frame. The exact nail or screw placement is a little different and the metal stronger, however. Additionally, you can stretch wire between the D-rings, if desired, and hook the wire over a couple of nails in the wall. Regardless of your hanger preference, hang the picture securely.

Pictures with any weight must be anchored securely into stud wall framing. Use nails with large heads for stability. Test the hangers and mount before replacing the picture and glass. When you mount the reassembled picture, again test the stability and let go cautiously.
