Hi Chook, The part that Mark has referred you to is an adaptor that fits many Makita routers, including yours, that 'adapts' your router base to take standard Porter Cable style template guides. So, yes buying that adaptor will allow you to use any of the brass guides. The adaptor is also available in a template guide set marketed under the Kempston brand.
