It seems to take care of the dust from the saw, but i'm out in a work shop , not sure if it would be good enough to use in the house where I'm not the boss If you're looking for me, you'll find me in a pile of wood chips somewhere I have a 14" Grizzly that I hook up to my 10 gallon Rigid shop vac. It does a very good job with dust collection, but I am in my garage, and I use a 3M dust mask with replaceable filters in addition to the vac.

Basswood dust is one of the issues I have in controlling my sinus infections and allergies. My dad in law used a 2HP Grizzly dust collector in his shop and it did an excellent job. Not sure my wife would let me use my saw in the house!!!! I should mention that it is in a former bedroom in the basement of the house. Most of the basement is unfinished, and the noise isn't too bad in the rest of the house!

Buffalo Bif www. Rockler sells many attachments that would let you step down from 4inch port to use your existing vac. Having a unit in your house I would suggest you add a ceiling air cleaning to the room in addition to whatever vacuum system you end up with.

There is a fair amount of fine floating dust that is not captured by the vac system that will be drawn into the house by the houses air handling equipment. I have a Delta dust collector connected to it and it works like a charm. Plenty of power running v , fairly quiet. Went in for a Rikon, and left with a Jet. I'm happy with it overall. The good: very powerful saw, very sturdy overall build. Love the belt tension and alignment windows and saw adjustments.

Table is super heavy duty and sturdy. You'll want to get some other ones soon of course. The bad - I can't believe the fence mechanism they put on this thing. The fence itself is tall and sturdy aluminum excellent. However, the sliding part that attaches to the table is an absolute piece of garbage. The four screws that you use to square the sliding fence to the table are too short and don't grab threads properly.

The fence was out of vertical alignment, so I went to adjust and found that someone who put it together in the factory used a washer as a shim on one corner - sloppy!!!! I fixed the short screws problem by making the holes a little deeper for the screw heads to get a bigger bite on the threads. Seriously, the saw is super nice, I cannot believe they put this Harb0r Fre1ght quality fence system on it.

Again, good fence, bad attachment system to the table top. That's all I have to say bad about it. The packaging was solid and it came in two boxes base and saw. It's palletized. Have your friends ready, it's heavy. Don't forget to order a base for it, otherwise it will sit in the exact spot you assembled it for a few weeks like mine did. And plan to convert it to V as soon as you can, it just runs better - though I did not have trouble with it on V.
