Possibly the greatest album of them all during this decade, Jay released The Blueprint , an album that was truly one of the better releases in his catalog. From the focused laser sharp lyricism to the lush soulful production of Just Blaze and Kanye West, this album was full of greatness.
The comeback album from Nas is a classic in many eyes, and how could you dispute it? An album that sometimes goes unnoticed or slept on by many in the genre, this album is truly the greatest thing that Pusha and Malice created. They would receive the most lush instrumentals from the Neptunes, which worked wonders for them on the album.
Believed by many to be the best Ghostface album, this project features some of the best music to ever come from the Wu Tang camp and Ghost does what he does best as always. Full of eccentric Best Rap Albums Of All Time 8th rhymes, street tales, and amazing production, this album is Ghost at his absolute best and without a doubt, a Hip Hop classic. While his previous albums had everything you wanted out of the Broad Street Bully, the music here and the focus he brought with it is amazing.
Depending on who you ask, this Outkast album is either a classic or a bit too left. Though I prefer ATLiens and Aquemini over this album for obvious reasons, this is the album where we saw Outkast stretch their eccentric nature and creativity beyond the norm.
After a failed experimental album with Electric Circus, Common bounced back with an amazing sound courtesy of Kanye West and longtime collaborator J. The production was mostly soulful and straightforward, with Common spitting his best verses since his Resurrection days. This is the greatest Kanye West album. Kanye blends the perfect amount of solid lyricism, good subject matter, emotional dimensions, and out of this world production together to make his magnum opus and one of my favorite albums of the decade.

Phonte and Pooh handle the lyrical end as expected, while 9th Wonder controls the production, and unsurprisingly, the result is an album that holds up even now, some 12 years later. All of his albums are great, but Shadows Of The Sun arguably is his very best. Over some of the most engaging Ant production ever heard, Ali paints honest, poignant, and compelling pictures all over the album. This album is pure Hip Hop. The Rennaissance obliterated all doubters and Q-Tip critics. The album is consistent as hell, 13 tracks with no filler material. Even though The Listening was much-lauded it went relatively unnoticed. Sonically creative and diverse and lyrically astute — this album is standing the test of time and will always have a place among the best Hip Hop albums of all-time.
Simply brilliant. A challenging listen maybe, but ultimately extremely rewarding — a milestone not just for Hip Hop, but for music in general. No sophomore slump for Ghostface Killah. Where most of his Wu-Tang colleagues struggled and failed… to follow-up their classic solo debuts with worthy follow-ups, Ghostface even surpassed his already awesome debut Ironman with Supreme Clientele.
If not for the little lag — with a few skits too many — in the middle of the album, Supreme Clientele would have been an absolute Hip Hop classic. Much darker and denser than their more light-hearted and fun first two albums, A Piece Of Strange takes us on a journey following the story of a man and those closest to him in their struggles with right and wrong, love and hate, while at the same time exploring the religion and racism that were and are so prevalent in the south.
The 16 songs contain loose connections with certain defined Biblical numerics and their interpretations. A Piece Of Strange offers excellent production and clever lyrics — the whole album is as good as it gets. A classic album is timeless, one that will still sound good decades from the date of its release. A classic album can be played again and again, without having to skip tracks.

Murs is another one of those rare personalities in Hip Hop who is always completely real. No fronting, no posing — just honesty and real emotion. But it is all good — at 10 tracks the album is short but sweet and there are no weak spots.
