I have owned a Makita portable table saw for a long time, and I noticed what appeared to be a router mounting location on the platform of the saw. I came across the RT by accident in the local big box and thought it might be a good solution.

Ran home and did some online research and learned about this combo version, which includes the basic router motor unit and several rigs to mount it different ways.

I ordered it and received it quickly with no problems. I am very pleased with my purchase. The combination of accessories in in the CX3 package is very helpful, and I've used two of them in my very first jobs. The carrying bag is very helpful for keeping track of all the parts and storing the whole set in a compact shop.

Happy surprise: the dust collection systems included mate perfectly with my shop vac system. Unfortunately the router won't mount directly on the saw table, but I may be able to do some modifications which will permit it in the future. This is not a high-powered unit, and I will be careful not to over stress it with deep cuts and rapid feeds, but for the laminate trimming and light wood cleanup I needed to do, it is just what I wanted.

All the accessories are solid. Really easy to swap between bases. Plenty of power for everything I have thrown at it. It has quickly become my favorite tool in my collection. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

Small but powerful. Well designed. Bases are excellent and contribute to being able to do more than with a standard router. BUT there is no provision for PC bushings the industry standard.

Kit packs well in included soft case. Easy to handle and work with for long periods. Overall a very good router. This combo is really nice. Like others have stated, I'm not a big fan of soft cases but this one works well.

I was thinking about turning into a cooler to hold my beer. Any way, plenty of power for my needs, I make wooden toys. It came with more gizmo's than advertised too. Very happy with it. I wanted to build a nice wooden box for a gift and I've just always wanted a router so I got this kit. I thought about just getting the router alone, but I am glad I went with the kit.

Many of the attachments are simple, but they really make things easier.
