Scott Burt www. Just spend all morning trying to make some sort of sense from the earlex. Have tried dulux satinwood, dulux gloss and zinnser all water based and run through the viscosity cup measuring the same thickness. Heres the results: Zinsser has come out perfect. Water based gloss has come out better then satinwood but not by any means perfect. Water based satinwood is the one in the same photo as the zinsser and is just as bad as the johnstones.

What sort of paints do you guys spray through your hvlp spray guns? I've sprayed Dulux Diamond eggshell with mine in the past - results weren't great, but acceptable for what I needed at the time. I've since switched to only using Morrells water-based lacquers and the finish has improved considerably.

I always go to my earlex because it's simple easy to clean and does do work perfectly fine for what I need it to. Regarding cleaning it I struggle to believe you can damage the gun cleaning it. I have had it soaked in cleaners I have used wire brushes to clean it because I have a few times forgotten to clean the paint out. Come back months later to find I left it full of paint I have dropped it few times.

I need to get a new pot. Very annoying when you drip onto the work piece.
