I bought this to compliment my tape measure and hopefully save some time and get out of people's way. Film requires allot of light and this LDM was trouble finding the return laser when we work in bright conditions. As a result it cant give me a reading and lags out. The shutter stays open until I put my hand in front of it so the laser can get a reading.

The red aiming laser is also hard to see in daylight in contrast to other more pricey versions i've seen. It has a mechanical shutter that opens and closes at each measurement making a little click sound that can get irritating. This little beauty has cut my estimate times in half. It is so easy to walk into a room and get very precise measurements in an instance. I feel like every realtor should own one of these. Then maybe they could provide accurate room sizes instead of estimates that are up to 12" out.

This laser stays in my truck at all times. It works pretty darn good in the sun outside but you can't see the end point so it can be tough if your finding a distance to a small object. I use it alot for estimating baseboards and materials for indoors so I don't have a huge problem with it.
