No decoration, no superfluous details,…. The invention of the table is a great idea. The first person to realize that stuff could be put at their fingertips, rather than having to bend over to retrieve it, probably had a sore back and knew there had to be a better way.

Also, sitting on the ground to eat was getting old,…. But if Frank Lloyd Wright had given it a try, we think it might look like this. You can create tapered legs using your jig saw.

With only pre-cut lumber from the home center store and basic joinery, you can be sitting pretty in no time at all. The bearing will follow the lower shoulder of the groove while the cutters will cut the upper shoulder to form the rabbets.

To learn more about this tool, clic here. The expected result is a joint that dry, supports itself. The dry assembly and the…. After making the groove on the first rail I think about adding a featherboard to keep workpieces against the rip fence to obtain consistency on the grooves and the shoulders.

Here are the completed on the four rails and the four stiles. This is a first sanding session of the rails and the stiles. At this step I can make it easier by clamping them. As shown, I align them with a mallet and a block of wood.

The pad prevents from any slipping and I sand using grit to grit sandpaper for now…. To cut long boards on a tablesaw, the panel cutter is the safest. The blade must be raised so one full tooth will protrude from the workpiece.

I start…. You can correct that oversight here. In any case, this bench was tremendous fun to build. One last molding to mill.

I install this ogee bit in the router table and I align the fence barely in front of the bearing. Used in the router table, the bearing should not touch the workpiece. To prevent any tipping on the…. To proceed gluing the face frames, I raise the casings on these shopmade I-beams. I spread a moderate amount of glue and insert the biscuits. Here are the carefully located biscuit marks for the lower rail. Hese are the…. After drawing the center line, I trace on a piece of hardboard each half from the paper pattern I made earlier.

The other ends…. The back panels being cut in width and the beads being machined, the next step is cutting them to length. It displays interesting reading and serves the Saturday night pizza. Now that the cupboard casings are completed, the next step is making the doors. I have milled all the stiles and rails at the tablesaw. I found a great way to sand the interior edges of the parts before going any further. A board clamped to the oscillating spindle sander makes this…. As shown, a good bead of glue is sufficient.

To proceed with the glue up of face frames to the cupboards I rather use sawhorses to have more room under the cupboards.

I must say that my cheap plastic sawhorses are holding well under these heavy weights. Great deal! One hour after the glue up, I remove the clamps and I…. This is the last chance I have to sand the interior edges of the face frames. Once installed, it would be practically impossible to sand properly at the shelves level. Then I mark the edges of the face frame and the cabinet where I want to locate the biscuits. Few biscuits will suffice…. Here is the completed cut of a face frame made with the jigsaw.

To rout the edge smooth, I reinstall the router pattern guide. As I did on the sides, the lower front rails will have a decorative cut. So I take the time to make a router pattern guide to get identical and smooth cuts on both hutches. Here is the paper pattern that I crafted to make my router pattern guide.

To see all steps on…. To make perfect face frames, I check and I identify each of the joints with letters. I mark the center of the 20…. The most important aspect is thinking about finding a…. Two mistakes, one after the other. When I cut the shelves for the base cabinets of the hutches, I omitted the sub-top shelf on which the top shelf will be screwed on.
