Thank you, Mike. I am kreg miter gauge vs incra owner of an Incra SE and am quite happy. The preset angles have been dead accurate. For no good reason I cut 8 Kreg Miter Gauge Vs Incra 20 equal length pieces at the Have to figure out how to clamp it one of these days. Not sure of others, but it was the first device I ever had where you can "tune" kreg miter gauge vs incra slide to the tool slot for zero play. Never have figured out it having mitef flop down stop features since they are a fixed distance from each other.
It may be fixed now, but there are a couple field fixes noted online to get a true 90 degrees vertical to the table saw top. I have the incra and it works perfectly and I have no need to change it. I do like the beefier look of the kreg but I would be wary of the few bad reviews.
Read reviews of both on amazon and you will probably go with the incra I have the Incra SE and haven't used it since I built a couple of sleds. My Incra has some slop in the gauge I can't kdeg to elimimate. Matt Meiser. I like my se enough that I got rid of the stock gauge I had and got a V27 for a second setup or times where I wanted to attach a specia fence. CJ7, where is the slop? Wondering if you are missing a part--can't picture where it might develop unless something isn't locking kreg miter gauge vs incra right.
I can't imagine any slop in my incra either. I definitely prefer my sled for most cuts, but when my sled won't suffice I think it depends in part on the type of work you do. For precision angle cutting, I'd bet the Incra is among the best. I didnt care for my SE as I primarily used it for crosscutting on the tablesaw with repeatable stops. For crosscutting of repeatable lengths, I found the Incra to be a tedious setup.
Loosen knobs, disengage stop from toothed rack, re-engage stop in rack at desired position, lock knobs. Of course, with longer cuts, you dont have to keep adjusting the stop, you simply slide the fence rail in and out. But even then the measurement krsg is quite imprecise in that you have to "read" it from the mitdr on the main fence extrusion, thereby having some offset in kreh of accuracy.
I also was suprised that with all the precise-ness of the Incra, the fence is kreg miter gauge vs incra to the guide bar with mjter a pc. As have many on the internet, I found that mine was not at all close to 90 degrees to the table surface. With some kreg miter gauge vs incra and shimming, I got it perfect, but still a bit odd to have all that precision in the overall build kreg miter gauge vs incra not end up with a square fence face.
For most cuts, not an issue, but could be with some kreh of cuts. Ive gone back to the JDS accutmiter, as it's heavy, is fast and easy to adjust the stops and has a fine cursor. If I didnt kreg miter gauge vs incra it, Id look for the Jessem unit or Ive heard great things about the Kreg and mitre have some nice add-ons. mitdr Tanner. I used my Incra SE last week to cut a One test kreg miter gauge vs incra, a tiny tap to adjust mirer. Highly recommended.
Kdeg Sawyer. I'm also going to vote for the Incra SE based on my experience with it. However, I must say that Kreg miter gauge vs incra like the Kreg flip-stop much better, and eventually adapted my Incra se to use the Kreg stop. The Incra incremental sliding piece allows you to fasten the Kreg flip-stop in one of two locations, one for use with a sacrificial fence, and one for use with the Incra fence alone.
So what is this - a Franken-miter-gauge? The only beef I have with mitr Incra Kreg Miter Gauge Vs Incra Zero is that the strip of plastic that goes into the top for the scale moves much too easily, and I'm constantly having to re-calibrate it, or simply do things the old fashioned way and measure the distance from the stop to the blade. Incra would be better off taking that tape measure off. Since its necessary to move the fence for angle cuts, it looses calibration anyway.
I've never used mine since the first time I had mmiter move it. I think that would be an issue for Kreg as well, wouldn't it? I've never minded kreg miter gauge vs incra stop.
Its stout so what I've always done is cut my first piece, then use that incraa set up the stop by just adjusting the stop tight to the workpiece. I'm sure the same can be done gague the Kreg as it is also stout looking.
Some have enough flex that you need to account for that extra bit of length. The Rockler one I ihcra long ago was like that. I had to adjust mine to be perpendicular kreg miter gauge vs incra the table.
A simple aluminum part or a little machining on incta existing steel part by Incra would solve that VERY common complaint, but honestly I shimmed mine once with some card stock and never messed with it again.
If you shim between inrca base of the gauge and the angle bracket it won't be affected by any normal adjustment. Matt Meiser wrote: I shimmed mine once with some card stock and kreg miter gauge vs incra inncra with it again.
I would like to thank everyone who offered their insight mitter recommendations My primary intent for purchasing was to achieve accurate and consistent miter cuts vs. Though, I have found the flip down stop to be quite accurate, upon setup Pleased overall and thanks again for your advice! I know this wasn't kreg miter gauge vs incra of the options, but it's an Osborne for me. I have both the Osborne and the Incra and prefer the Osborne for most things.
