woodworking-bench-plans-reddit-switch This bench is 48" long, 34" off the ground, and 18" deep. In the top photo, it looks woodworking bench plans reddit switch your table saw fence is on the rerdit side, is this for a specific reason? Typically, it is on the right. Damn nice setup. I just uploaded new sketches and instructions and material list. Continue to 13 of 14 below. Let me know how it goes!

This is nice, but you may want to fix the bottom of your stand as you are blocking your air intake vents located here. Get some Open Cell Polyurethane foam and rest it on top of that.

Lots of airflow. You can get it at the pet store in the aquarium filter section. Its not perfect by far, but I learned a lot by my self from ground up. I think you could've stopped at one hashtag each, instead of every.

Made it difficult to read. Someone needs to make a very low profile 90 degree USB-C cable. That would probably fix all these charging while playing issues with the stand.

Definitely a must-buy QoL purchase. Like this? But I don't think you can get them low-profile enough that the kickstand will work. Thank you!!

I couldn't for the life of me find this! I only want one so when I'm laying in bed playing and have the console resting on my belly, it wont bend the hell out of the cord.

I don't understand why they don't put the signal routing PCB on the 90 degree part, they could make it a lot lower profile if they did that. Shouldn't affect durability either, they just use a straight connector for the USB-C jack, instead of a board edge connector.

Base on the YouTube videos I watched. Weird aha. Source on that? I'm pretty sure they're wrong. If it was, it literally wouldn't be USB-C. Numerous accounts of people connecting their battery packs to it directly contradict that claim. It's false. Yeah the Hori Stand! It's actually pretty decent, multiple viewing angles, play and charge and conveniently folds down for portability, which is actually really nice since bulky stands obviously don't fit to well in a back pack.

I ended up snagging one from EB Games Canadian if you weren't too sure where to get one. Do you have any sort of dust collection on it? Workmanship is alright, but a good design can disguise an amateur's skills. That and clever camera angles. Menards mostly. Most of the hardware from Amazon. Feel free to make specific requests about anything you see and I'll do my best to provide answers. Almost done with the my version of this!

Love Woodshop Junkies. Wish i could add a photo. Youtube series coming soon. I am just finishing up a stop for the miter saw that will go in the t-track alongside the table saw. When I don't want to use the stop, that bottom right track is a little holder for that stop, to keep it out of the way but in it's place.

As other people have said, there are plans in the album. I can try to make better scans of them ie real scans, not just shaky phone photos and upload them. I can take actual scans of them, instead of shaky photos. Is there a recommended way to update this post? Should I create a separate imgur album and link it in reply to some of these requests? There are also a few pages I didn't upload because imgur is not friendly to portrait orientation in larger posts hard to read captions and see photo at the Woodworking Bench Plans Reddit Maps same time.

A new gallery would work. Edit the post to keep the link at the top. Thank you for doing this. You rock. This is great - I had a similar idea a while back but glad I put that project off because this is much better than my initial sketches.

Saving this. Have at it! Would love to see this design catch on. Honestly surprised there aren't more hinged tables out there. Not everyone can fit a 5'x10' combination workbench in their garage. Alright whose the hero that's going to put this on sketchup for the world?! This is a beautiful masterpiece OP.

Thanks so much for the compliment, it really means a lot. I did the best that I could dream up, and it feels so good to know other people like it too! I and I'm sure quite a few others would throw a few bucks at it for sure.

I'll Woodworking Bench Plans Reddit Result try to get better scans of the plans sometime this weekend. There are also a couple pages I left out for brevity but I can put everything I have up here. Is there a recommended method to update this post with those extra images? As long as people give me credit for the base design or inspiration, that's payment enough for me. Or even if they don't give me credit and it inspires someone to build something they love, that's great too!

But I'm flattered to think that people would actually want to pay money for this design! I haven't done anything related to woodworking since High School, but I'd buy this just because it looks sooooooooo3good!

This is amazing - well done! I plan on buying that same miter saw and am working on plans for a similar work table. Would you mind sharing what the dimensions of the miter saw are in that storage position?

Great question! I have it written down alongside some of the plans which I plan to rescan based on some other requests in this thread - so I'll try to get those measurements to you as soon as I can.

Very nice man! I have thought about doing something exactly like this but my woodworking skills are still fairly rudimentary. My garage doubles as a home gym so I need to be able to maximize space as much as possible and a work bench like this would be perfect for that.

There are some fuzzy plans in the imgur album. Also, there is nothing all too fancy about this design. Almost all the cuts and joints are straight, lots of surface to surface gluing and butt joints. If you can use a miter saw and table saw in the simplest of ways, you can make this bench!

Awesome table. I have been planning the same thing. Dang, 16"?! I didn't know you could get those. Do you actually find yourself needing that combination of blade size and sliding? If so, what did you cut with it, out of curiosity? Sorry I worded that poorly.

Very nice work. I bet you spent many hours thinking about it. Is the cart actually the separate structures? The rest of the bottom frame is 2x4s with 1x6s on the outer face. Those ribs add a ton of rigidity and structure to those dropped shelves. If that doesn't answer your question, please let me know and I'll try to answer it better. I can try to write a mini-tutorial tomorrow or this weekend. I don't know if I can go cut-by-cut I don't want to either, no offense , but I can try to describe a high level process that will hopefully give you some direction.

There is a little bit of description in the imgur album, but it's pretty short and sweet. Unfortunately I didn't document most of the early parts of the build, which is a real shame. I was just so caught up in building it I didn't stop to admire and document each step along the way! Kicking myself a little, but not too much. Where were you a year ago? I built something very similar, but yours is executed much better than mine.

Only difference is mine has a router station built in on the end opposite the table saw. I have the same miter saw, and you are right, it is a huge PITA to lug that thing on and off when changing cuts.

Oh well, I'll live with what I have until it doesn't work anymore. Great work! So you know those Instagram vs reality posts? This is the Instagram version, and the one I built last weekend around the same table saw is the reality version.

Mine is the apprentices version sitting next to the masters version. This is stunning OP. Great question. Yes, that was purposeful. Hardboard isn't the strongest material, but it makes a great flat surface. By using the 1x4s around the edge, I can protect the edges of the hardboard from getting snagged and damaged. Another way of saying it, the edges of hardboard are weak, but the surface is fine. I protected the edges with the 1x4s. Looks to me like your table saw is slightly higher than the bench.

Is it? If so, why? I am going to build a bench for my table saw soon. I've been thinking about keeping the table saw in the Jobsute stand it came with though, so i can move it in relation to the bench based on where I need outfeed support. Like you, I don't have unlimited space. Have any thoughts on building the table saw into the table versus keeping it separate?

In the top photo, it looks like your table saw fence is on the opposite side, is this for a specific reason? This is fine though as my saw has places to attach the fence on either side of the blade. The reason it is on the left in the pictures is because I had just ripped a 1x1 oak strip in half. It looks like there is no extendable fence for the miter saw. I see that rockler t track thing there, but it seems like it may be more in line with the blade and not the saw fence itself?

Or if you added a fence it doesnt account for the width of that fence and will actually push your piece forward of the saws fence?

Is it really only an issue for "pros" to have a big miter fence and the average guy wont have to deal with it? I would love to see the design of your fence system. I have been setting up a shop in a pretty tiny basement and I'm trying to figure out if a large might bench like this would save me some space vs tailoring benches to each tool individually so I can reorganize in a hurry.

Very nice. The vertical storage on the pegboard makes this an ideal design for woodworkers who like hand tools. Placing hooks or pegs into the holes on this surface will support marking tools, measuring tools, and small one-handed tools.

Larger and heavier hand tools, such as hand planes, can be stored on the shelf space this work table provides. You will be able to store most of your basic woodworking tools and accessories in this workbench. Most jobs can be done on the table surface in this design, except for working on wide panels. Unfortunately, the pegboard and upper storage prevents large panels from hanging off of the backside of the tabletop.

This rugged design has few frills. A small woodworking vice is the only addition to this thick-framed workbench. Wood screws and wood glue will help to keep everything together, and a drill and saw should be the only major tools needed to dimension and prep the lumber. The 2 x 4 will make up the majority of the lumber that you use on this project.

The only addition that I can see will be the MDF sheet used for the workbench surface. The vice hardware is an extra expense you will want to add into your budget on this project. Beginners and intermediate woodworkers will appreciate the solid design that allows you access from all sides of the table. An MDF work surface will help to keep wood that you are working on a level, even as the change. Adding a small woodworking vice to one corner allows you to clamp projects down securely, and frees up your hands for other things.

This becomes a bit more difficult of a build than the previous workbench designs, as the tabletop moves. If you decide to build it, you will need some extra fasteners beyond the screws and glue used on previous DIY work table plans. If you are new to woodworking, do not become intimidated with the flip top component.

This project changes things up a bit. While 2 x 4 framing timber is still used, they also add 1 x 2 as well as 1 x 3 timber. The designer calls for 2 x 4 plywood sheets, but you may find a bit of savings if you have a 4 x 8 sheet cut down to the smaller size. This mobile bench will require casters and the washers needed for them. The parts list also adds a variety of screws and bolts to the mix on this build. This design is ideal for a hybrid workshop.

This project will allow you to mount a miter saw , portable table saw , or a good benchtop planer. The other side can be kept bare, or you can also contemplate adding another power tool if you wish. As this design is also not as wide as some of the six-foot benches we looked at previously, it makes for a good addition to a small basement or garage work area.

Those who are new to woodworking will get limited use from this design, but intermediate woodworkers who enjoy their power tools will be able to build and use this woodworking bench. This design also requires the Woodworking Bench Plans Reddit Apk running of standard household electrical wire as well as the installation of three electrical outlets for the power tools to plug into. That includes the plug-in for the extension cord. Three-inch carriage and lag bolts are required, and this design might introduce you to the T-star screw, which is used to secure the frame.

This DIY workbench plan uses maple plywood for the tabletop surfaces, but it should be noted that a thinner and less expensive plywood can be used for the storage shelves located below. Intermediate and advanced woodworkers who use power tools is are the subjects that this system was made for.

Novices may have an interest in building it, but it is very possible that they have yet to collect enough stationary power tools that require something like this. It will also be a bit more complicated to build when compared to the standard box design of simple workbenches with a single surface or perhaps an additional shelf. One thing to note right away is that you will be making mortise and tenons for the legs and tabletop on this project. To hide the mess, he added the hardwood inserts that are darker in color.

I bring this up as this step will not be necessary if you take your time when cutting them out. This might not be the best project to cut your first mortise and tenons on. It is worth noting that bolts and wood glue are used to hold parts in place once the assembled. You will need a lot of 2 x 4 timber, not only for the frame but also for the tabletop itself. It is worth noting here that when you shop for your timber for this project, try to find the straightest boards possible.

That includes looking for planks that have little to no twist in them.
