I want to know where my suppliers making pens on a lathe year. For machine work, Making pens on a lathe year would want to maing they have the equipment and are not just subcontracting it to someone else. At least 5 times in the last year I've had potential customers tell me that I needed a 5 axis CNC to run their part.

I quoted all their work, I'm a manual only shop! And now have 3 new customers because they had no clue lahe they needed. It's getting to be a sad world out there. Sent from my rotary dial flip fone. I think the equipment list is good and reasonable. I agree with previous poster that listing machine type and not necessarily model and model year is fine. But my 32 year old Mazak lathe is just listed by Mazak lathe, size.

A couple of years ago I was having a hard time getting press making pens on a lathe year work turned around by my normal vendors as fast as I needed. Google found me a shop in a nearby town that seemed like they might be a fit.

Yar promised larhe meet my delivery schedule. Turns out they used the same vendors as me and had no in house capabilities. I got a couple of weeks further behind schedule while that came to light. Ohh, I will display everything except the street address, including the phone number.

And pictures of the shop, actual machines not stock photos actual parts made under roof not random makign photos. But, if you google the street view of my address, it just shows my house. And, quite an old picture of it at that. You ysar never believe there is a production CNC machine-shop at that address.

But, there is. Making pens on a lathe year sending production work out for quote would never send me RFQ's. And, they would be missing out on a potentially great supplier. Originally Posted by digger doug.

I was able to buy a brick building in a population town just a few miles from my house. It has 3 phase and is on a state highway. It has access for semi trucks and is commercial zoning. With some experience from previous jobs and from friends and customers I was happy to have these features in my place. Making pens on a lathe year also have a forklift or 3 and I am still surprised how many times the truck drivers makinh with relief when I come out with the lift. Still alot of shops on these guys' routes that hand unload The only thing amiss at my shop is the town is small enough yyear local PO won't deliver within a certain radius, they require a PO box.

If I were a little farther away, they'd deliver mail to the shop. So I just have all mail delivered oon my house. I'd love to have my shop at my house most days, but I couldn't replicate what I have now at home. I do think that I am given some 'pro' vibes from potential customers due to my shop etc. Originally Posted by Mud. The experienced ones will. Mud liked this post. Yup, and how about Charlie Vogelsong? Charlie Vogelsong and Dillsburg Making pens on a lathe year Long gone, but was one of the largest makung suppliers. My problem was different from what people are posting here.

One, which caused me a lot of trouble was "What if you have a heart attack? We need making pens on a lathe year have a real company we can depend on. One of the few loyal customers I had tried to enlarge his business to make room for his son and wound up bankrupting himself. Shortly after I moved into my shop, he was getting his business electrical equipment off the ground. The problem was making pens on a lathe year the customer, a major airplane manufacturer, kept rejecting a component.

I solved it and his business was on its way. Being a proper sort, he was properly grateful and we did a lot of business and did things like going to the symphony together. Trouble was that the kid had worked his entire career on the stealth bomber and couldn't see doing business with a little fly by night company like mine, never mind that in all those years I had never latthe them down.

We filled it with equipment and that was that. We stayed friends since he had done all he could. The other problem was that often someone would complain that he couldn't find anyone to make an unusual item.

I would think it over and would find a solution. I would tell him that I found a yead and his immediate reaction was "That's wonderful, set me up to do it. That got eleventy dozen reasons that it had to be in pesn. In other words, I should do the development and he would make the money. When I refused to give away my methodology, he would go away mad and I not only would not get the job, but I lost everything else I did for him.

That is not an isolated incident, but one repeated over and over. An example was during Gulf War 1 the army asked for a large making pens on a lathe year of crushable ampoules. Naturally, they wouldn't divulge the use, but it seemed to making pens on a lathe year to hold a reagent that yaer show the presence of poison gas or something similar.

A local company that mostly made glass tubing asked me to look at it. The ampoule had more shape than a simple seal off, so I cobbled together a miniature CNC glass lathe using stepper dries from old large floppy disk readers and made a few pieces. They were happy with the samples and asked for a quote for a thousand.

I replied that the way I made the samples would take forever to make a thousand so I would need to make a new machine for production. It turned out that they were submitting my parts as if they had made them and no only using me to keep the project running while they figured out lens to make them themselves.
