Very nice jig, hence the only one available under 5k in India through importers, comes with every thing i needed to get started, though i am not using those precious screws that came with the kit, Pros: Robust construction Very sharp drill bit Driver bit is long and very sturdy and many more i still don't know Cons: The one I received Has it's stop collar's fastener missing, make shift screw i am using Nothing else, pure happiness of fast woodworking.
S in India it's very difficult to find perfectly straight and square lumber at a reasonable price so unless you dont have a table saw and a thickness planer it's not going to work.
Images in this review. I am disappointed! One side of the hole is tighter than the other hole for the standard bit supplied. Don't know if it's normal by default.
Otherwise, it would deserve 5 stars!!!! Product creates pocket holes flawlessly. Since, I was using it for hight quality plywood the screw could penitrate in other side of the. I tried this time, when I couldn't get through at all I had to return the product. I have been using the Kreg pocket hole jig system for over a month. It is a high quality product and creates very good pocket hole joints.
This Jig is awesome.. Drawback is the expensive screws. One person found this helpful. Does what it's supposed to do. Highly satisfied. Delivered as promised. Jig is working fine. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Here is the deal. The Jig is 5 stars. It is perfect in doing what is supposed to. That said, if given the choice I will NOT buy it again. Reasons: Kreg Pocket-Hole Jig offer more versatility.
Even as a hobby woodworker, as I said before, I would buy Jig or K5 now that I have used this one, and realised on how pocket holes can be so handy. K5 is expensive but the built clamps are well worth it.
I reckon based on my experience with this Jig, I would skip K4 just as well also.. I spent lot of time reviewing different jigs and their feedback, however I should have put more thought into this issue.
As far as this jig is concerned, it has been working flawlessly. I have had no issues with the drill bit being misaligned or anything like that. I am sure I will buy K5 or similar in future. Finally, please let me know if this was helpful. Just wondering if there are similar hobby woodworkers who find themselves in similar situation.
Best Regards,. Form a DIY'ers point of view. This was very easy to use. Watched a video on you tube on how to use first. Did a test cut on an old pice of wood. Just to get the hang of it. The only thing to remember is when you put the drill bit into the plastic block. You must have the drill bit turning before you start to cut the grove in the wood for your screw or you could break the Drill Bit tip.
I used a cordless drill and it worked fine for me. Have made loads of screw holes. This is a great bit of kit. Easy to use after a bit of experimentation- should have had one of these years ago. I use a cheap clamp to hold it in place and the jig makes a neat job. If you are in need of a pocket hole jig you'll know if you are! Also make sure you get hold of some actual pocket screws - they're more expensive and you can't buy them everywhere but they definitely work best for this type of use and you may well not need loads of them if you're just putting together a couple of joins.
Classic American made - robust and does what it says on the tin. I bought the cheaper alternative brand pocket jig a few weeks ago and it was rubbish. The kreg is everything the alternative brand jig is not. Starting with the jig itself. It is the most affordable pocket-hole jigs in our list.
But keep in mind that this is a very basic set, so the cost of purchasing a clamp, compatible screws, and other accessories can add up to the cost. I really like its lightness, but that can be worrying especially if you want to use it for many months. The guide holes are also made of aluminum and not hardened steel as is common , so consider that before buying.

You might not also like the plastic screw plugs that are included in the package. Just buy one from your local hardware to apply finishing touches to your shelf, table, or bench. A pocket-hole jig is a popular woodworking joinery tool used to easily drill pocket holes into wood at a certain angle. After drilling a hole in one piece of wood using a drill bit, you then attach the first piece to the another piece of wood with a self-tapping pocket screw attached to a square driver bit.
The result is a stronger joint and more superior furniture that will likely last for many years. Check out this video for a demonstration on how a pocket-hole jig works. Make no mistake. You can drill pocket holes even without using a pocket-hole jig or you can just toenail it, but this tool offers more accuracy and precision as it already has a wood thickness measuring the scale at the sides, as well as a drill depth setting scale.
These tools make your work more efficient as they take the guesswork out of joinery. The joint it produces is weaker, and the angles of the holes you will drill will likely not be consistent with each other. Take a look at this video to learn more about the pros of using a pocket-hole jig. Kreg is the undisputed leader when it comes to producing the best pocket-hole jig brands.
