Hey All, I recently opened up my Jet bandsaw to discover jet 14 bandsaw dust collection light was jam packed full of dust despite my use of dust collection, I poked around and discovered that the factory dust port has a super narrow slit which was also full of dust. That explains why this machine has been so dirty lately but that dust port seems like a design flaw. Now that you know that the slit is there you may have to get in the habit of checking to make sure it isn't blocked.

But I think I would call Jet and talk with their techs to see what the purpose of the small opening is and what would happen if you were to make the opening larger. What saw is it?

My Craftsman BAS has both a 2. The jet 14 bandsaw dust collection light inch, for some ungodly reason, is blocked by about 80 percent, leaving only a small gap on the bottom. I truthfully don't run any dust collection on the bandsaw usually as I'm usually just making small cuts with it, but when I do I just plug my dust jet 14 bandsaw dust collection light onto it because of the lousy design of the 4 inch port.
