111 Inch Carbide Bandsaw Blade Que,Wood Store Vancouver,Boat Gel Coat Stain Removal 20 - Step 2
The blade is great and expensive. But she "Don't" like Hickory!!! So I'm thinking any very hard dry wood will be a problem. Yes the band saw and blade are properly tuned. And yes was very slow feed rate had to be used A great blade worth the cost. I have had mixed results with various blades in re-sawing woods for my guitars and ukuleles.
That is all I needed to convince myself I had found the blade I always wanted. I almost exclusively use "exotic" species, Rosewoods, ebony, bubinga, etc. Bandsaw blades don't last long with these materials, and often left a rough surface which required hours of work with scrapers and sandpaper to polish smooth again.
I ended up wasting a fair amount of these expensive and rare woods just to smooth the surface. No more. This blade cuts through all woods like butter with an incredibly smooth surface. Was able to rough out a cane handle of snakewood very easily. Apparently it can also be resharpened several times. What a smooth cut! This thing glides through 12" thick material easily. Used on a powerful saw with great Carter guides all I need to do is sand the piece after re-sawing.
Truly amazing. Purchased for my Rikon 14" bandsaw my saw is a little underpowered to see if it could help. Does a great job on thick material. I have only used about 2 dz.
