This arrangement of magnets maximizes their attractive force see notes at end , even if some misalignment occurs. But, it works better if everything is as close as possible to being flat and parallel.

Now you are ready to install the magnets. If you use epoxy or acrylic, you'll have to mix it. I prefer the self-mixing tubes, as pictured. But for this project, I didn't need very much. So I didn't use the static mixing nozzle supplied with the adhesive they only give you two, and they're one-time use! I just squirted a small amount onto a scrap of cardboard and mixed it with a small wood stick.

With epoxy, you have a few minutes to work, so there's no need to rush. Dab a small amount onto one end of each magnet, and press it into its hole.
