Replacement was fine. Have used several times both belt and disk - very effective and robust machine. Had trouble finding a way to connect dust outlet to my own extractor owing to the unusual outlet size - Suspect it is designed to encourage you to buy Draper dust extractor. One other consideration is that it is oriented for mounting at the left hand end of a bench to optimise access to both belt and disk.

It is not feasible for me to mount at that end and consequently have mounted on a base that I can spin and lock in place according to whether I am using disk or belt. A bit disappointed at arrival, it comes on its own cardboard box with no additional protection. When i plugged it to de mains and turned the power on, nothing happened only a aauuummmmmm sound, turned it of and then on again, still nothing only the aauuummmmmm sound, the i gave it a litle push on the sander belt and it started runing.

Never happened again and still runs ok. The instructions are fiddly with very poor black and white pictures, which makes assembly a bit confusing.

All the plastics are of poor quality, meaning brittle. The two tables, are secured to the sander by only a few small diameter screws, which do not provide the stability that would make them really useful and durable.

Definitely for light DIY. One of the few I have found that actually comes with the back guard on the belt which is a great help when squaring off items. Only one small gripe, the supplied belt had a bit of a ridge where it had been joined which tended to make life interesting when doing the sanding, but purchased some more belts which seem a lot better and I am now sanding anything I can get my hands on.

Do make sure you connect it to some sort of dust extraction system though as it does make a heck of a lot of very fine dust and will cover your shed or workshop in no time. This is a heavy and substantially made item. There are a few matters that would definitely need addressing before I could rate this as a four or five star item. Upon arrival the belt adjusting screw was loose allowing the internal plastic captive nut which controls the the belt slew to fall out.

I put this back which was fiddly. The slew adjustment is very fine and sensitive. Secondly, the instruction manual is very clear and precise upon health and safety issues, but would be considerately better written on matters referring to the assembly of the add on parts. It took some time to work out but can be worked out if patient. Thirdly, and most importantly which prevents this item being exceptional is the disc sanding table. It just does not fit. The table rubs against the disc.

This will require considerable modification hence the 3 stars. It's a pretty poor show really. Would I recommend this to others? Delivery was speedy but the product was so bad I should have sent it back. Two problems and they were major, firstly the table was so tight that the disc wouldn't turns I had to grind 5 mm off it. Secondly the belt wouldn't run straight and was running off and grinding the main body of the machine, i managed to fix this but it's far from perfect.

It's the second one of these sanders I've had and I know that the other one was very good, that's why I went for another. I'm very disappointed with it but it's my own fault as I should have sent it back, i would have but courier services can be awkward for pick up's so I put up with it.

I just received it and assembled. Instructions are not great but any competent diy'er will get there. Well packaged and no damage.
